Custom Embossing
At Regius LeatherWorks, we offer custom embossing for our products. Are you a knife maker that wants a bulk order of sheathes with your Logo? Maybe you'd like a set of velcro patches customized for your paintball team? Or maybe you're looking to personalize an every-day carry note book cover with your own home-made floral pattern? Whatever your design is we'll be happy to bring it to life!
Precise Detailing
From simple designs to complex ones, we'll stylize your images through our own stamp making process to capture and emphasize details on the leather. By controlling the precise depth of embossment, details are individually defined to ensure your design is transferred crisp and complete. Our hand dying techniques can then accentuate each detail with contrasting color.
Embossing
While other makers may print images onto their products, or burn text into the surface, we press your design into the leather as three-dimensional indentation. Your design becomes a physical part of the item that can't rub off or wear away with time. This not only maintains the durability and long-lasting quality of your item, but also brings your idea to life with a tactile texture to feel.
Product Options
We'll happily emboss almost any of our products for you. Designs and patterns can be stamped onto veg-tan leather surfaces, such as our:
- Book Covers
- Velcro Patches
- Knife Sheathes
- Dice Trays
- and Belts
Our Reviews
Limitations
Custom embossing of course has some limits, such as detail loss with scaling. Very small details (approx. 0.3mm or 1/128") can be lost in surrounding features. This typically poses no problem to most designs, but should be accounted for in the scaling of text in order to maintain legibility and font style. We would recommend scaling text to be no smaller than 3/32" or 2.3mm in height.
Uniform margins should generally be maintained from the item's edges or stitching lines and embossing should remain off of bent sections of leather, such as the spine of a book cover or sheath, unless it otherwise affects the whole of the design, such as a uniform pattern.
What We Need
We'll of course need a picture of your design or pattern. Images in black and white or grey scale are preferable, but images of color are perfectly fine as well. We accept all major file formats, such as .jpg, .png, or .webp.
If you'd like to add text then we'll need to know what font you would like to see it in. If it's a non-standard font then we'll need a picture or a font file (the extention would be .ttf).
We'll initially discuss measurements and placements with you, and then communicate with you throughout the process to confirm the custom design before finalization.
